No longer a "missed abortion"!!!

Last week was supposed to be my 7-wk U/S, but my RE could only find an empty sac. If there was no change in the follow-up U/S today, he was going to schedule a D&C.

Fast-forward to today: THEY FOUND A YOLK SAC AND HEARTBEAT!!! The embryo is measuring 6 weeks size and 114 bpm, but it's a huge improvement over last week! I was so afraid to read the other MM stories last week for fear of getting my hopes up, but I'm SO happy to report that I can now contribute a misdiagnosed story of my own! PRAISE GOD!!!
BFP 2/21/06, EDD 10/31/06
No yolk sac visible on first U/S, 3/13/06
HB and yolk sac found! 3/21/06
No embryo or HB found, 3/27/06

I just found out on 3/16 that I had a blighted ovum. I had my last menstrual on 01/27 and thought I was about 7wks when I went in. They said they saw a yolk sac and that I was also measuring a little small for 7wks (about 5 1/2), but they automatically said it was a blighted ovum and I would need to consider a natural miscarriage or a D/C. I was so upset, but thought God has a plan for everything. Then Sunday morning I decided to get on the internet and find out the length of time for my body to miscarry and came across this website. I was quite shocked, but also excited. I don't know if I am giving myself false hope, but I decided to go back in to have another U/S. I am having it today 03/22 at 2:30. I hope all is well. Thanks for all of the information and I am so glad to see your baby is doing well.

i am 2 days away from having my 7 week 5 day follow up ultrasound to my 6 week 5 day ultrasound that showed an empty sac. my uterus is retroverted as well. I know what you mean by being afraid to read these stories and get my hopes up... but there are moments (like now) that i just can't resist. This is the longest and hardest week ever! My HCGs look good though. I read your story and my eyes teared up, I am so happy for your positive outcome! I will update after my u/s on Tuesday.
BFP 6/23/2006 EDD 3/1/2007 - 1st u/s 7/11 - possible blighted ovum.... AGAIN<BR>
