I wish I had found this site sooner

My husband and I were thrilled to find out we were pregnant with our third baby. Shortly after getting a positve pregnancy test I began to bleed... this went on for 5 months. It varried from just spotting to soaking through a pad down my pants to my socks when I stood up. I was scared and confussed.

I remember one weekend in particullar that I just locked myself in my room under my covers and cried, not being a very good mommy to my other two children.

At every visit to my OB they told me I would miscarry even though my levels were alway in range and the baby always looked perfectly healty on the U/S. Once I got into my second trimester they told me I would probably not carry full term.

Around 6mos. preggo the bleeding stopped. They could still see the mass on the U/S and labeled it a subchorionic hemorage.

I gave birth to a full term baby boy on March 22, 2009. He will be one year old this Monday and is such a joy to us all.

I only wish I had found this site then.

That's one of the reasons this site was started. My second pregnancy really got the site going but during my first pregnancy, I bled and bled. I pretty much bled the second trimester. It was awful not knowing if I would miscarry or what would happen. Of course, too many doctors just give you the worst possibility to prepare you. I still don't think they need to do that.

Congratulations to you. I am actually putting your story in the Misdiagnosed section as well. More women will find your story there and you will give them comfort!

and why I just believe a blighted ovum should NOT be diagnosed before nine weeks at the earliest and the UK's new guidelines support this

Thank you.

Thinking back I bled with my first 2 pregnancies also, Both around 4 mo. prego. Although it turned out to be caused by kidney stones both times it's still pretty scary.

I'm glad this site is here to show that it's not always a worst case scenerio and when it is there is support.
