wow.... my miracle!

at 4 weeks: bleeding (ALOT) 1/2 a day (bright red).
ER- that night hcg levels 27,000 doc did vag. u/s baby,pole yolk sac, everything seen NO HEARTBEAT. doc said i should have seen a heart beat by 1000 hcg... told me to consider D&C. (also he measured at 6 weeks when i was pretty sure i should only be 4 weeks)


hcg levels 3 days later 38,000 (did not even come close to doubling as they "should")

10 days later went to a new doc.... hcg levels went up to 50,000
another vaginal ultrasound, showed a heartbeat.... 53 bpm... EXTREMELY LOW it should have been at least 140bpm...
Also sac was meauring 7week 4 days, baby still only measuring 6 weeks.

1 week later hcg still SLOWLY rising...... to 80,000

this whole time, the sore boobs and m/s get worse and worse everyday....

today: measuring 9 weeks... everything is fine, doc is very optimistic, says everything looks like it has made a complete turn around, and baby is healthy and strong!!!! (dont know details yet like hcg levels ect....) I will keep you ladies updated on all that`!

Chaos... What ever happened with this slow heartbeat? I assume you had a beautiful, bouncing baby:-)... In any case, I am going through the same torture right now...

I am about 7 and 1/2 weeks along and although both for today's ultra sound and last weeks, a heart beat was seen, my doctor has said that it is not fast enough...+ it is now measuring about a week behind...
I'm not sure what to do... I need some advice... I went to see another doctor at another facility (and I will probably change my treatment to this new facility after this pregnancy is resolved in some fashion) and she agreed with my original doctor... too slow heartbeat, about a week behind in measurement.

This is my 2nd FET and my 3rd attempt with IVF....

This is torture/death by a thousand cuts:-(... I would be beyond delighted if this preganancy were viable... but every sign shows that it probably isn't... so all I'm doing right now is waiting for the hbeat to actually stop?... I've kept up the mediciations (progesterone, etc) way past when I guess I should have, am I artificially keeping this fetus alive? should I stop the medications and let what happens, happen?...
If this pregnancy is not meant to be then I do not want to waste time enabling it along... I would rather start again and try to produce a viable pregnancy (especially since I have done a good consultation with this new reproductive endocrinologist).

What do you guys think? Has anyone ever had a low heartbeat fetus actually make it? any thoughts would be much appreciated... as you can imagine I am very despondent at this point.

I was hoping to see a response here. I am 7w3d and my baby's heartrate is also measuring very slow/weak at the moment. It's measuring behind some too which just saddens me. It's hanging in there though.... have had a heartbeat since Monday - just slow. I am not sure how slow as it was too weak to pick up on doppler. I am hoping and praying for a miracle turn around!

Let me know what happens with you - I agree the wait is so torturous! I have had moment of pure hell and other moments I just feel like things will be okay.

How much longer do you think that you will have to wait? Are they just monitoring you every few days? ...although my story did not end up well (ended up miscarrying about a week ago after I stopped the progesterone, because the heart beat had stopped), I have tons of hope for you ... as long as the baby's heart is beating, there is lots of hope... and from what I read, the longer it beats (slow heart beats in particular) - - especially if the beating should continue past the 12 week mark (just another 5 more weeks for you), the more that you would have the chance to delivering your baby. That's what I have read. Please let me know how everything turns out... I am so keeping my fingers crossed and praying for you... I am 8 weeks (LMP) today and have had 3 ultrasounds d/t 2 previous miscarriages. The first u/s was at 5 weeks and they saw a yolk sac w/ no baby...too early to see he said. Came in at 7 weeks for a vaginal u/s and they saw a heartbeat but it was only 90, which I was told was low. But I came home and researched on the web and for that gestation, it said 90-110 is "normal"?? So I wasn't concerned but my Dr. was. He scheduled a 3rd u/s for me at 7 wks 5 days (LMP) and the baby doubled in size (4-5 mm) but was still measuring small- only 6 wks 1 day, and the heart rate had dropped to 86 bpm. I was told that up until 9 weeks, the heart rate should go up ~3.3 bpm each day, so 86 is "very low". Today I am 8 wks LMP and my Dr. had me in for a consultation to say that he is NOT "optimistic" but that he has seen a few cases where it did improve. We have another u/s scheduled for a week to see how things are going. I am not optimistic either, but I'm not giving up hope.
He also has me on progesterone twice a day and a baby aspirin, which I was told "may" help prevent another miscarriage, but would have nothing to do to affect the baby's heartrate.
I would just LOVE to hear a story of someone who has been thru something similar where it has worked out! Anyone out there?

Dyemom, I would continue holding out... hold until until (IF) the heartbeat stops... I was going to an acupuncturist while trying and she is fantastic (and I will go to her in the future)... her advice was to keep up the acupuncture ("to give the baby some energy") as long as there is a heartbeat - - slow or not... I think that I may have gone to her too late to help me though:-(
Although in my case, the heartbeat did stop eventually, I never gave up hope until it did stop... I've read somewhere (for the life of me, I can't find that piece anywhere) that if the heartbeat lasts until the end of the first trimester, then the success rate dramatically improves - - whether or not the rate started out slow or not...

So terribly sorry things didn't work out for you this time around.

I'm still pregnant as of today, scheduled for another u/s for the 13th. I'll be 9 wks at that point. If there is still a heartbeat at that time, I think I'll take you up on your advice. My close girlfriend used an accupuncturist when she was 1 week overdue (after her doc wanted to induce) and she went into labor the next day! She was trying to get me to go see him/her to help getting pregnant, but when I got pregnant soon after- I figured I was good!

I will try Anything at this point, and I so appreciate your kind words! Although I have a family that people dream of and friends to match, I'm finding this to be an incredibly lonely place to be w/ very few who truly understand. It's good to know I'm not alone-

Hey Judith, I went in for my 4th ultrasound today and there was no heartbeat and he said the baby hadn't grown since the last u/s over a week ago. They scheduled me for a D & E on Monday morning. So incredibly frustrating, as you know. Meeting with a fertility specialist next month to see what he can offer up. Will still try the accupuncturist for the next time around for sure.
