In office D&C

I am about 8 weeks pregnant, but measuring very early, as from 5 weeks on, things did not look good. My HCG numbers are only at 2,000, so my doctor wants me to wait until next week to see if I can miscarry on my own. I have to schedule a tentative D&C for the end of next week. I do not feel comfortable with my obgyn doing it. My RE, who is a top RE here where I live highly recommended an obgyn that does D&Cs in her office. After doing research, I am told I will not be knocked out. I have heard of some being in pain doing it this way. I had two D&Cs before and both were under anesthesia and in the hospital. Can anyone tell me more about doing it in office? I don't know what to do now. Thanks.
