So here is my story... I still don't know what to think and as I play the waiting game and quietly loosing my mind, I type this post.
I have had 2 previous miscarriages - the first one was a missed m/c diagnosed on ultrasound (no heartbeat at 9 weeks and foetus only measuring 6w1d) and dropping bhcg's. We opted for the d&c. This was 8 months ago. Last month I fell pregnant again but lost the baby soon after - at 5 weeks. I started bleeding and my bhcg was under 5 very soon. It might also be called a chemical pregnancy as I only had 6 positive urine tests 6 days apart, then bleeding and it was all over.
So this brings me to this pregnancy. If I take my LMP as the first day of the last m\c it would be 15/1/17. I ovulate usually D15 or 16. I didn't use OPK this month as we weren't actively trying and we were still reeling over the last loss. But on the 13/2/17 there were two dark pink lines on the pregnancy test. This was D30 of my cycle and I had missed my period by 1 day. My regular cycle is 29 days. Because of the previous m\c and my neurosis (personality defect I'm afraid) I did a bhcg on 13/2/17 and 15/2/17 measuring 56 and 84 respectively. Progesterone was normal as well. I did a intravaginal scan on the 16/2/17 at what would be 4w4d and my OBGYN saw two gestational sacs - one normal and one slightly collapsed. She asked us to come back in 10 days (6w1d). And this is where things get interesting....
At this point she saw only fluid (likely blood) in the uterine cavity. NOTHING else. No sac, no foetal pole, nothing. I had not had bleeding / spotting at all but my symptoms decreased a little. She was very confident I had miscarried again and said the fluid would reabsorb so she didn't book another scan. Before the pregnancy my husband and I had made an appointment with a fertility specialist and now, after the 3rd m\c it made sense we go to see him. As luck would have it this was only a week after this last scan, in other words I would have been at 7w1d.
He took a history etc and then did another intravaginal scan. He saw the fluid again, filling the uterine cavity and then.... a gestational sac, a yolk sac and a foetal pole! Measuring at 5w5d only. We both looked at it because in the middle of the foetal pole was... a pulsation??? It was slow, maybe 80-90bpm but it was there and we zoomed in and we kept looking. I told him I'm suppose to be at 7w1d and he said that it is very unlikely to be a viable pregnancy but that nothing is certain in early pregnancy and he wanted me to come back in a week. He also took another bhcg. Now with 4 days to go I've said goodbye to rationality a while ago. I'm having dreams this baby might still be alive.
That would mean that I ovulated at least 7-8 days late and that bhcg started being released very soon after implantation (5-6 days). Is this even possible??? I know you might not ovulate normally after miscarriage so I guess late ovulation is possible....
Has anyone ever had this experience and not suffered miscarriage?
Any comment would help....
