I took a home pregnancy test on 1/16/15 which was positive. It was the digital week-estimator kind, and it came back "3+", which means I was at least 3 weeks pregnant at that time. I have a very irregular cycle, so that's the best time indicator I have other than I'm pretty sure I had a period in November. I had my first ultrasounds (both abdominal and vaginal) on 1/29, and the tech was able to show us the yolk, fetal pole, measure the heartbeat (130 bpm), and date the pregnancy at 7 weeks. She said that the ultrasound didn't look quite right to her, though, and she thought I might have a retroflexed uterus, so she referred me to a specialist. I saw him the next day on 1/30 and he did an abdominal US (no vaginal). He said that there is no fetus, no yolk, no fetal pole, just an empty sac. He is telling me it's 99% BO. I showed him the printouts from the first US and he said that my body "probably absorbed the material". Is that even possible over only one day? Is it possible that the fetus is "hiding" due to a retroflexed uterus? We are considering D & C based on everything I've read about D & C vs natural miscarriage, and I don't want to somehow abort a viable fetus! I am scheduled for a f/up US on 2/11 but I am worried because I am supposed to be traveling 2/7-9 and don't want to end up having a miscarriage on the plane! Is it worth getting another US sooner? Would they be able to see anything? Also, the specialist didn't even bother to draw blood, so I don't even have that as a measure. Please help! Thank you!!!
