SarahC's Story-Blighted Ovum Diagnosed at only 7w4d MISDIAGNOSED

Hello. I first of all want to thank you for this website. It helped to save our baby's life. We went to the doctor on the 11th of January. I was 7 weeks 4 days pregnant and we were told that I had a blighted ovum and would miscarry. I was told that I have a tilted uterus a while ago. When we got home from the ultrasound, I was obviously very disappointed and sad. The doctor had told us that we could either wait out the miscarriage (which could take months), have a DNC or use a prescription to induce the miscarriage. After seeing your site, we decided to wait for a couple of weeks and go back in for a follow up ultrasound to make sure that nothing had changed. So, we went back on the 25th (I was 9 weeks 4 days pregnant) and they saw a healthy baby and heartbeat! It was truly a miracle! I had prepared myself mentally and emotionally that I was about to miscarry and I was just ready to have it done and not be living under this cloud anymore. The doctor was shocked. We were shocked and I am so happy. To anyone who is reading this going through the same situation, I know that you don't want to get your hopes up. I didn't either. I will say though that if there is an outside chance that you could have the same outcome, it is TOTALLY worth the wait to get another ultrasound as hard as it is. I pray that everyone on here will have a healthy baby soon. Thanks again!

I am so happy for you. I wish this would happen to me as well. I was 8wks & 2 days when we went for US my doctor said that I have Blighted Ovum I really wanted to wait for few more weeks hoping that we will see a baby & a heartbeat soon. As much as possible I don't want to have D&C. Thanks for sharing your story & the other ladies who experienced this. It really helps. Good luck with your pregnancy praying for your health & your baby.
