Wendy's Story - Baby not seen at 6 weeks

Postby Kay » Sun Feb 05, 2012 11:29 pm

Wendy let me share her story. Her story is such a common one. So many women do not see their babies at only six or seven weeks and yet doctors insist upon worrying them. Please, keep in mind, this is normal for many women!

I went in to the doctor for my first ultrasound at 5 weeks 6 days. The doctor only found a sac and a ring, He then told me they like to see a fetal pole around 5 weeks and that things wernt looking so good. He told me to come back in a week and to go to the hospital for the next ultrasound. Trust me i was a crying lady for that whole week and didnt undertand because my blood levels were rising and i was starting to feel naseated. A week later 6 weeks 5 days went into the hospital, there and behold was my little baby with a heartbeat of 165. The tech told me everything looked good to her, i cried as soon as i seen my little bean. I am now 9 weeks and things are looking great still. Dont give up ladies sometimes its just to early for them to see anything. I have read alot about babies cant be picked up till 6-8 weeks on ultrasound, sometimes women can ovulate late. As for me, baby is registering on time which i was shocked, my little peanut at the time was just to small to pick up. And remember all babies are different, some grow a little faster than others. Good Luck to you all! Hope this will give you some peace:)

and why I just believe a blighted ovum should NOT be diagnosed before nine weeks at the earliest:

Thanks for sharing your story Wendy! It makes me feel better. My doctor told me that I have miscarriage because they can't see yet the baby yolk sack, no heartbeat yet and my hcg level went down a little bit. They thought I am 10 weeks pregnant but I know I maybe only 5 to 6 weeks. I have the water bag though. She give me the popular 3 options to remove! I have strong faith in God. I don't have any bleeding, cramps, etc. I will try to see another specialist and have another ultrasound after few weeks. Hoping my little peanut is healthy. This is my first pregnancy.
Enjoy every single moment of your pregnancy! :)
